Kindergarten Enhancement

Heartland Agency’s Kindergarten Enhancement program is both licensed and accredited. It is a 5-day per week program that is ideal for families who would like to support their child’s learning through an extra half day of kindergarten in addition to their designated public, Catholic or private kindergarten program.

Led by a certified teacher and following Alberta Education’s kindergarten curriculum, our Kindergarten Enhancement program runs a morning program from 9:00-11:30 AM, as well as an afternoon program from 1:00-3:30 PM.

In addition, the Kindergarten Enhancement program can be accompanied by the following optional daily components if required:

• Before care: 7:00-9:00 AM
• Lunch supervision: 11:30 AM-1:00 PM
• Extended programming: 3:30 PM-6:00 PM
• One way or two way transportation (follows school bell schedules). To access transportation, children must fit into one of the following categories:
  • Battalion Park – students registered in the morning or afternoon class at Battalion Park
  • Olympic Heights – students registered in the afternoon class at Olympic Heights
  • Roberta Bondar – students registered in the afternoon class at Dr. Roberta Bondar

Griffith Woods – students registered in the morning program at Griffith Woods

Children attending alternate schools for their designated kindergarten year may also attend Heartland’s licensed and accredited Kindergarten Enhancement program, but parents would be responsible for organizing daily transportation to and from Heartland.
